Seagrasses and Textures
INTRODUCTION
This is an exiting Course that will teach you how to paint Sea Grasses. You will get 3 Videos totaling 7 hours, 30 minutes of information and inspiring demonstrations. There will be 4 Sample pieces and 2 larger works for you to test your skills. Colour mixing in full view to aid you and remember you can paint at your leisure, by stopping and starting the parts you are painting at any time.
You might like to copy and save to your computer or photograph the four types of sea grass for your reference. I would suggest to use a good quality gloss paper to get a sharp and clear print image.
SEAGRASSES AND TEXTURES Part 1
This video starts with me discussing the four small Samples of the Seagrasses, and their names. Firstly, I go through the layout/composition and drawing up. You will also see the larger works that you get to paint in the last video. I will suggest all the materials you will need including paint colour choices and brush selection and then commence painting the first two samples.
Part 2
In this video I will be finishing off the second Sample and continuing on with number three and four. I will be showing you, all the techniques, choice of brushes and colour selection and mixes as the paintings progresses.
Part 3 Final Steps
In this third video you will see me paint both of the larger seascapes, incorporating seagrasses. I discuss the drawing up the composition, colour choices, colour mixing and the brushes to use for both Images, as I progress through to the finished paintings. You will have ample time to paint these images being able to pause the video, wherever you wish, and paint at your own pace.
Useful Images that you might like to copy or save to your computer, so you can print at your convenience. Use good quality gloss print paper for a clean, crisp print image.

The teacher/artist is showing their method, thoughts, and learning, allowing a student to try it to test and become familiar with the concept, the process or idea. It therefore is not the student's original thought or creation and must not be reproduced or presented as their own creation. That would be a breach of copyright. It is a courtesy to sign it on the back as your study of ... the teacher's name by your name.
This is one of the first signs and way of honoring the original unaided creations of an artist. The same respect will be given to any artist who signs their name on an artwork. It is the signature that claims it as their original creation.

MATERIAL LIST FOR COURSE 4 – Sea Grasses and Textures
Paper: I am using a Baohong 300gsm Stretched Block, but any artist quality 300gsm papers will do.
You will need a Table Easel that won’t tip over and is easy to adjust the angle for painting.
PAINT: Colours I used, Daniel Smith or an Artist quality brand. French Ultramarine Blue, Manganese Blue Hue, or Cerulean, Raw Sienna, Aureolin, English Red Ochre or WN Light Red, Quinacridone Coral or WN Permanent Rose, Phthalo Green B.S. or Veridian and WN White Designer Gouache for tinting.
OTHER: large box of Tissues, 2B Mechanical Pencil, soft white Eraser, ½ inch Neutral Masking tape to go round the edge of your painting and to place your 1/3rds on, A piece of Test paper like your painting paper, A fine mist water bottle, a ½ old Credit card for scratching out, an old hard toothbrush for Spattering, Hair Dryer. Large old bath towel to go underneath all your equipment, plus a couple of old tea towels.
